POCO X3 is an excellent offering in the mid-range segment as brings out some very features like a 120Hz display, a newer Snapdragon 732G chipset, a 64MP camera and has a larger 6000mAh battery. This smartphone is a great all-rounder and small improvements over the POCO X2 make it better.
On the other hand, the Realme 7 Pro has some of the best specifications like an AMOLED display, a good set of cameras, and runs RealmeUI out of the box. It may seem a downgrade over the previous Realme 6 Pro, but still has a lot going for it.
How do these smartphones compare with each other and see whether the POCO X3 is a great buy over the Realme 7 Pro?
POCO X3 vs Realme 7 Pro Design:
In terms of build and design, both the smartphones sport a different design. Both have a polycarbonate back with a matte finish on the Realme 7 Pro (Review) and a glossy finish on the POCO X3 with different color patterns when viewed from different angles.
The POCO X3 (Review) has a larger display at 6.67 inches compared to the Realme 7 Pro has a 6.4 inches display and both have punch-hole cameras on the front, where the Realme 7 Pro has it on the top right corner, the POCO X3 has it in the middle.

To the bottom, both smartphones have their respective logos. Both have support for dual SIM cards and Realme 7 Pro provides an additional slot for a microSD card for storage expansion.
To the sides, both have a power button with volume buttons and on to the top, the POCO X3 gets an IR Blaster to control televisions, refrigerators, etc. To the bottom, there is a primary microphone, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack with a loudspeaker vent. Just above the display, the POCO X3 gets a small LED notification light.
The POCO X3 weighs slightly more at 225grams compared to 182grams on the Realme 7 Pro. This is due to the larger 6000mAh battery on the POCO X2. The Realme 7 Pro has a slightly glossy finish so it attracts more fingerprints but both the smartphones have been provided a case inside the box.
There is an IP53 rating on the POCO X3 whereas the Realme 7 Pro has a splash-proof back. So clearly, with the IR Blaster, slightly larger display, an IP53 rating, the POCO X3 is the better of the two.
POCO X3 vs Realme 7 Pro Display:
On the front, the POCO X3 has a larger 6.67 inches display compared to 6.4 inches display on the Realme 7 Pro. Both have Full HD+ resolution but the display on the POCO X3 has a 120Hz refresh rate compared to the standard 60Hz refresh rate on the Realme 7 Pro.
The display on the POCO X3 is an IPS LCD panel whereas the Realme 7 Pro has an AMOLED panel.
So in terms of color reproduction is good on both, but the Realme 7 Pro has better viewing angles and the auto-brightness sensor works better compared to the POCO X3.
Under direct sunlight or at low-light, the AMOLED display has better legibility compared to the IPS LCD display, so clearly the Realme 7 Pro is better when you are watching a particular video and if you are scrolling through webpages or playing games, the POCO X3 comes into the picture as it has a 120Hz display.
Both have support for HDR content and have Widevine L1. However, the front display of the POCO X3 has the premium Gorilla Glass 5 compared to the Gorilla Glass 3 on the Realme 7 Pro. The display on the Realme 7 Pro has an in-display fingerprint scanner compared to the side-mounted one on the POCO X3.
Overall, it is a personal preference whether you want a smartphone for media consumption, then the Realme 7 Pro is the better and if playing games with smooth scrolling is what you need, then the POCO X3 is the better one.

Since both are mid-range smartphones, they are powered by the Snapdragon 700 series chipsets. The POCO X3 has the newer Snapdragon 732G chipset compared to the Snapdragon 720G chipset on the Realme 7 Pro.
Both the Snapdragon 732G and the 720G have a similar configuration that includes: 2×2.3 GHz Cortex A76 cores and another 6×1.8 GHz Cortex A55 cores. The only difference is that the Snapdragon 732G uses the newer Kryo 470 cores whereas the Snapdragon 720G uses the Kryo 465 cores.
Both have the same Adreno 618 GPU, so gaming and daily performance are equally good on both smartphones. However, the GPU clock speed is slightly higher on the Snapdragon 732G compared to the Snapdragon 720G.
The base variant of the POCO X3 has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage whereas the base variant of the Realme 7 Pro has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and both have UFS 2.1 speeds for file reads and writes.
All heavy games like Call of Duty, Asphalt 9, etc. ran smoothly on each of these smartphones, but when the gameplay is kept at the highest graphics settings, there is a slight frame drop noticed, otherwise both of them provide excellent gameplay.
After a long time of gaming, the back of the Realme 7 Pro does feel a bit warm compared to the POCO X3, which instead has a liquid cooling system to sustain peak heat while gaming. Both smartphones have their respective gaming modes also.
In terms of benchmarks, the scores on both are almost evenly matched and near to each other for example on Geekbench 5.1, the POCO X3 scored 571 and 1774 in single and multi-core compared to 574, and 1754 on the Realme 7 Pro.
Overall, the performance is equivalent on both but here, the POCO X3 slightly edges out ahead.

Both the smartphones run their respective custom skins where POCO X3 runs on MIUI12 with a POCO launcher and on the other hand, the Realme 7 Pro runs on the RealmeUI and both have Android 10 out of the box.
The POCO X3 runs on MIUI12 which is a much-improved version over previous MIUI versions and with the POCO launcher, you are getting an ad-free experience. There is a new Control Center and there are quite some third-party applications pre-installed.
On the other hand, the RealmeUI provides a software experience almost close to Stock Android and has quite less bloatware compared to the MIUI12 on POCO X3. Both of them provide a system-wide dark mode, Android 10 based navigation gestures, and Digital Wellbeing.
Here the software experience is almost good on both smartphones, but with less bloatware, the RealmeUI is slightly better.

At night, the images from the POCO X3 have lesser noise and better dynamic range compared to the Realme 7 Pro. The colors also look slightly punchier on the POCO X3 and long exposure shots come out better than the Realme 7 Pro.
Both have a dedicated Night Mode and turning it results in much better details on the Realme 7 Pro especially with the new and improved NightScape 3.0 where it improves the dynamic range and also reduces noise in the images. When you compare both images which have been taken using the night mode, it is hard to differentiate between the two.
Moving to the ultrawide camera, here the POCO X3 gets a slightly larger 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera compared to the 8MP f/2.3 ultrawide camera and both offer a 119-degree field of view. During the day, the images from the ultrawide camera come out better on the POCO X3 with punchier colors and better dynamic range.
The images on the Realme 7 Pro have a lot of noise and when you zoom into the images, there is plenty of noise and the details look softer also. At night, the POCO X3 has much better details and highlights in shadows are well present. The Realme 7 Pro struggles with a lot of noise and the dynamic range is not as good as on the POCO X3.
Both also get a macro camera which is a 2MP one on both and here the dynamic range is better on the POCO X3 and the focus works well on both of them. But these macro cameras are just for the numbers.
Moving to portraits, the Realme 7 Pro has better background blur and dynamic range compared to the POCO X3.
When you zoom into the portraits, the edge detection is also better on the Realme 7 Pro with good details compared to POCO X3 which tends to oversharpen the details a bit.
On the front, the Realme 7 Pro gets a 32MP f/2.5 camera compared to the 20MP f/2.2 camera on the POCO X3. The selfies from the POCO X3 have better contrast and dynamic range compared to the Realme 7 Pro. The POCO X3 has punchier colors and the skin tone looks natural also.
The Realme 7 Pro, though having a larger sensor, tends to overexpose the background and the noise is quite prominent also. Beauty mode is enabled by default on the POCO X3 which you can turn off though.
In terms of portraits also, the POCO X3 has better edge detection and dynamic range compared to the Realme 7 Pro. The portrait selfies are good on the Realme 7 Pro with a wider field of view and this gathers in more subjects. So when you zoom into the selfies, the POCO X3 has better details and if you want group selfies, the Realme 7 Pro is better.
On the video side, both the smartphones can go up to 4K video at 30fps. The video from the main camera has good details from both the smartphones, but the stabilization is better on the POCO X3 and the colors are punchier with better dynamic range and less noise compared to the Realme 7 Pro.
The 1080p videos at 30/60fps come out good on both the smartphones as both implement EIS and UltrasSeady mode for stabilization in videos for videos from the ultrawide camera. The videos from the ultrawide camera are clearly better on the POCO X3 compared to Realme 7 Pro in terms of dynamic range and details.
Overall, the cameras are slightly better on the Realme 7 Pro compared to the POCO X3.
POCO X3 vs Realme 7 Pro Battery Life:
The POCO X3 houses a larger 6000mAh battery compared to the 4500mAh battery on the Realme 7 Pro. With the display set to 120Hz, the POCO X3 can easily last for one and a half days with heavy usage whereas the Realme 7 Pro lasts only for one single day with some battery left.
The Realme 7 Pro can give you a screen on time of around 5-6 hours on an average which is slightly lesser than 6-7 hours screen on time on the POCO X3. Both have their respective power-saving modes to preserve the battery.
Both the smartphones have support for fast charging where the POCO X3 is bundled with a 33W fast charger, the Realme 7 Pro has support for 65W SuperDart charging which is the fastest charging solution in this price range as it takes the smartphone from 0 to 100 percent in 37 minutes.
The 33W charger on the POCO X3 takes the smartphone from 0 to 100 percent in 1 hour 20 minutes which is slightly more than its predecessor, the POCO X2 which took 65 minutes to charge completely from dead. This is because of the higher 6000mAh battery inside of the POCO X3.
Overall, the battery life is better on the POCO X3 but if you want that super-fast charging, then the Realme 7 Pro is the one to choose.
POCO X3 vs Realme 7 Pro Audio Quality:

These smartphones also provide a 3.5mm headphone jack and the audio output through them is really good and here also with the support of Dolby Atmos, the Realme 7 Pro has the better audio experience of the two. So clearly, in terms of audio, the Realme 7 Pro is better.
Verdict:
Both are very good smartphones and have almost all the requirements that a mid-range smartphone needs. Starting with the POCO X3, it has a larger 120Hz display, slightly powerful Snapdragon 732G(the difference is minimal compared to Snapdragon 720G), has a larger battery, and comes with slightly better cameras.
On the other hand, the Realme 7 Pro brings along an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner, the RealmeUI is quite better compared to MIUI on the POCO X3 and the most important striking thing is the 65W SuperDart charging which charges the smartphone completely within 37 minutes.
So clearly, if you want a gaming smartphone with a higher refresh rate, a larger battery, and better cameras, the POCO X3 is the one to choose. If you want a smartphone for media consumption, then the Reaalme 7 Pro with the AMOLED display will suit you better. It also provides a better software experience and faster charging is just insane.
It all boils down to personal preference, which one to go for and you will not go wrong choosing either of them.
I would choose POCO X3 since I do a lot of gaming and plus I need larger battery as I can easily use it in office without using my charger. Great phone from POCO sir. Thank You Can you tell the difference between NFc and this one?
