Samsung Galaxy Note 10 launch & specs

With the launch of the Galaxy Note 10, Samsung is setting a new benchmark

After a long wait in the smartphone industry, the Korean giant Samsung launched its most anticipated phablet in two variants the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ with an all-screen display.
Its edge-to-edge display technology is still called Infinity-O, but here
the cutout for the front-facing camera is situated in the center at the
top of the phone’s screen, rather than at the top-right.
This is the first time in industry Samsung has launched its phablet in two variants with the Note 10 weighing 168gms and Note 10+ at 196gms.

Today we are going to have a get a look at the younger sibling the Galaxy Note 10.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 10 Design & Display :-

The Note 10 houses a 6.3-inch dynamic AMOLED display with a Full HD resolution,
coming in at 2280 x 1080 pixels, with 401 pixels per inch. It includes
HDR 10+ technology, and considering that Samsung hasn’t opted for a QHD
display here because it’s offered on the elder brother Note 10+.
It may be a disappointment for some as it’s predecessor Galaxy Note 9 came with a QHD display, but on a daily basis the screen is better on its own.

On the bottom edge of the phone you’ll find the USB-C connector in
the center, with a speaker and the S-Pen slot sitting to the right of
it. The top edge of the phone is uninterrupted apart from the SIM tray. Now here first time the 3.5mm headphone jack has been removed but Samsung does provide AKG branded earphones (type C) inside the box.
The left-hand edge of the phone is home to the volume rocker, and the power button below this. Samsung has opted to kill the Bixby
button that has appeared on a lot of recent Samsung flagships – to
activate that feature you now just hold down the power button for a few
seconds, which is a far more efficient solution.
The frame of the
phone is a premium metal, while the back is made of glass. Your color
options are Aura Glow (a combination of blue and white), Aura Black and
Aura Pink, but it’s currently unclear which markets will get which
colors.

Now coming to the camera section, Galaxy Note 10 houses the camera setup like the Galaxy S10 or S10+ with combination of a 16MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP regular lens and a 12MP telephoto lens.
All the lens provide good photographs with good light in the picture but the wide angle lens proved to be really good as the photos and videos taken were full of detail.

The Samsung Galaxy Note10 camera has also learned a few new tricks mostly related to video recording. Samsung claims Super Steady Mode is now enhanced compared to the one on the S10 siblings. There’s a new feature called Live Focus Video, which enables you to
capture ‘bokeh’ background blur effects of the kind were used to seeing
in portrait-mode stills.

The front camera is in the center of the display, and it’s a 10MP sensor which provides good selfies both in normal as well as portarit modes. While recording the video, you will experience good stabilization as the camera hold on its own.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 10 Performance:-

Coming to the CPU and GPU (most important components in a smartphone), Galaxy Note 10 is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos
9825
processor that features 4 cores clocked at 1.9GHz, 2 cores clocked
at 2.4GHz and 2 cores clocked at 2.7GHz built on a 7nm LPP EUV architecture
compared to 8nm on Exynos 9820.

It will be also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 which features four Kryo 485 Silver high-efficiency cores operating at 1.8 GHz along with three high-performance Kryo 485 Gold operating at 2.42 GHz and another higher-performance Kryo 485 Gold core operating at 2.84 GHz.

The Snapdragon 855 integrates the Adreno 640 GPU for good AI tasks, VR and gaming capabilities. Those in the US will have access to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset inside their phone. If you’re in the UK (and other countries around the
world) you’ll get the newly announced its Exynos 9825 chipset.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 10 Battery Life:-

For such a huge display we need a good battery that serves this mammoth.
On the battery side, we have a 3,500 mAh battery which is slightly lesser than the Note 9 (4000mAh) but here it powers a full HD+ display while the latter a Quad HD display.
On moderate use, the phablet provides good battery life with moderate to heavy usage as there is 15-20% left at the end of the day.
Samsung has included a 25W fast charger in the box this time which reaches 50% in 0-30 mins and keeps the phone heat in control while charging.
It also comes with wireless charging 12W max out of the box and just like the S10 it comes with Wireless Power Share as you can share charge with other phones or devices supporting wireless power transfer.

Now the most attractive thing in a Note series is the S-Pen feature as it eases the daily tasks of an individual using the Note.
The core functionality of Samsung’s Note S-Pen has remained
unchanged. Pen removal detection, hovering above the display, the S-Pen
button all work in a familiar way.

Physically, the new Note10 S-Pen looks and feels pretty much identical to the one in the Note9 as well.
This year Samsung has thrown a 6-axis sensor, including a gyroscope
and accelerometer into the small S-Pen
. It’s almost surreal when you
think about it – all that tech can now fit in this small pen.
This allows for some new remote motion-based gestures, dubbed Air actions and also supports 5 native remote control functions out of the box,
including single, double press, horizontal/vertical gesture and rotate,
which are actually customizable. Plus, Samsung is offering an Air
actions SDK to developers.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 10 Software:

Coming to the software front it ships the latest android version Pie out of the box and will be updated to Android Q in the upcoming future. It comes with Samsung’s OneUI on top and the phone runs smoothly and efficiently thanks to that 8GB RAM and good software optimizations compared to previous Note devices.

Verdict:

Now moving to final verdict overall the Galaxy Note 10 already looks to be one of the best phones
that Samsung has ever created and it’s immediately one of the top
choices on the market if you’re desperate for a stylus that works with
your phone.
The launch date in India is on August 23 with estimated price of Rs.69,999.
