Vivo X50 Pro First Impressions: Going around the gimbal camera

Vivo X50 Pro first look
Vivo, the smartphone manufacturer launches new innovative smartphones in the industry as they were the first ones who brought in the in-display fingerprint scanner, a motorized pop-up selfie camera, and much more. So this year they are taking a step forward with the advancement in the camera setup.

The new camera module which is called the gimbal camera will be seen on the newly launched Vivo X50 Pro which is quite making a striking deal with a faster chipset, a larger battery, and those cameras.

First Look:

The Vivo X50 Pro houses a glass sandwich design with a glossy finish at the back. The camera system is familiar to the Samsung smartphones of 2020. It is a huge hump with the main camera having the gimbal system.
The Vivo X50 Pro has a 6.7 inches AMOLED display with that 90Hz refresh rate which makes things work smoother when it comes to gaming and multitasking between applications. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset which has support for 5G, sports a 4315mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
Talking about the smartphone, it has FuntouchOS 10 running on top of Android 10. The FuntouchOS brings in many new features and combined with the 90Hz display, makes scrolling and gaming smoother.

The cameras: Exciting Gimbal System

The Vivo X50 Pro comes with a quad-camera setup which consists of the 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor with f/1.6 aperture and this one has an interesting gimbal camera system which is in fact almost similar to OIS on flagship smartphones.
The other three cameras include the 13MP portrait camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP camera for periscope lens with 5x optical zoom and have that four-axis optical image stabilization.
On the front, there is a 32MP shooter which is also good when it comes to portraits and videos.
The talking point about this gimbal camera system where Vivo team has worked hard and achieved this particular setup. The R&D team has this gimbal system which we can say is an enhanced version of the OIS that is being seen around.
The camera uses dual ball suspension and voice coil motor which enables the lens to move in the opposite direction of the shaking motions. For example, turning the camera to the right, the lens moves towards left thus handling the shakiness in the images and reduces noise.
At low light, many smartphones fail to capture together with the pieces of an image for stabilization, so here the gimbal mechanism enables the camera to hold all the frames together thus making less use of EIS, producing many stable images.
So basically tilting the smartphone around, the camera with support for OIS moves opposite to the direction of the camera but with gimbal mechanism, the whole module can rotate.
On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera that has good depth and takes good images.
The camera seems to be the selling point of the Vivo X50 Pro in the near future but considering the price, the chipset does feel a bit short as it gets a Snapdragon 765G chipset whereas the competition at this price range gets the Snapdragon 865 chipset.

Prices:

The Vivo X50 Pro will be priced at Rs.49999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage which puts it against direct competitors like the Realme X50 Pro, OnePlus 8, and Xiaomi Mi 10.
